Clean Brass With Ketchup (Really!)
Hi Lindy,
Here is what I use for all the brass in my home. Although it says Copper works magically on the brass as well. https://amzn.to/3aYis4K
A mixture of white vinegar and salt (dissolved) can be applied to the brass and then rinsed and dired and your brass will be considerably brighter. Lemon juice will also work. Anything acidic such as ketchup too! :)

Hi Lindy: This is what I do: All you need to do is coat the brass with a layer of WD-40, which is a great to clean brass, and let it sit for about 15-30 minutes. Take a clean cloth and rub in circular motions drying and buffing it up. I t will clean and polish brass and make your brass shine bright as good as new. Good luck
Have you tried something like Brasso?
There is some good information here:

Ketchup, WD40. After you clean then seal them with a couple coats of clear spray paint or lacquer
You can clean brass with ketchup then wipe with a clean damp rag.
