Pressure wash first. That will remove loose paint. If paint remains, you will probably want to scrape. Although you can use a paint solvent, I would recommend scraping.
Hi. I had great success with a wire brush. Then I used a paint solvent to remove the rest. Good luck.
Karen, just a little warm soapy water and a green nylon scrubby should take it off. If you aren't in a hurry, the aluminum will make the latex peel off because latex and aluminum are incompatible.
Start with hot soapy water & try to scrub it off with the scrubby side of a 2 in 1 style sponge. You might have to use a razor blade to remove any paint stuck in the tight spots.
