What is one of your spring time rituals?

I am interested in ALL of your rituals, whether it be you add a garden to the front of your home, spring cleaning, redecorating a room and tell me why?

What a fun question! Every Spring I like to add a new plants that will return on their own in future years so that eventually, my annual plantings will be minimal and just for a pop of color.

We do Spring cleaning, and to make it fun, we have a DQ Blizzard afterwards!

Go through the seed packets with the grandchildren...I want them all to love gardening. Great question.

I get the covered patio cleaned up and ready for summer! Then move on to the front yard - refresh the beauty bark and potted plants, mow and edge the front lawn...

I wash EVERYTHING in the house - Drapes, throw pillows, throw rugs, bookshelves & books, cabinets, occasional use glassware & china, closets - EVERYTHING! Then I usually update a few pieces and rearrange stuff to give my home a 'fresh' look. New pillow shams or change out the sheers in the living room or just swap them around into different rooms. I also get stuff together for the annual garage sale. Anything not used in the previous year goes! Keeps clutter down and brings in a little extra cash for needed house repairs. Whatever doesn't sell goes to a charitable foundation in my area. I love the DQ Blizzard idea - I might be adding that as a reward to myself :)

I clear every single possible thing that I can from the garage (to the curb or the dump or good will or consignment or book market) then make a game of filling it up again by emptying the house and at the end of the summer do it all again :)
