Where could I find branch like this?

Instead of an Xmas Tree, I'd like to find a beautiful branch. Where can I find one? I don't want to cut one down, but who sells something like this? I want to hang decorations. Thanks!

A landscape maintenance company; perhaps a tree trimming service; a florist.

This is pruning time, Drive around! Also call any local landscape companies or garden centers with your request. The bigger the better, as they will less likely charge you. Also your local utility and municipality does maintenance trimming and cuttings. What you are showing is more like a fruiting branch, apple-like, you may ask an orchard.

Make your own out of craft wire and floral tape, then spray paint it the color you want. It'll last a lot longer than a real branch.

My mother used to take branches from neighborhood trees (with permission, of course) and spray paint them white for the same effect. I will admit, as a child, it wasn't the Christmas tree of my dreams. But she was really into it.

I would look for something with the same shape outside from a fallen tree or bush.

We used to take a branch from a tree outside. Then stick it into a vase or foam w/moss. This is how we did Easter trees, I think it would work with this also.

Take a walk around the block or down a country road
  • I use Manzanita tree branches. If you are willing to drive to downtown LA to the flower market you can get them much cheaper than mail order. Then stop in at Michael Levine's and spend hours finding all kinds of do dads to make beautiful ornaments!

If you lived in Oregon you could drive to Bend and find Manzanita branches. I have my Easter tree that I got several years ago, put it in a planter filled with sand. It's probably 10 or 15 yrs old. Good luck.

I have a very old Manzanita branch, painted white and mounted to a 1x4 x4 block of wood (also painted white) that we hung tiny Easter decor on. It, also, can double as a Christmas decoration, just remove the Easter stuff.

About 40 years ago my mother used a branch off a large lilac bush in our back yard and sprayed it with "snow". You might also see if there are any trees in your yard or see if your neighbors are willing to part with a branch. You might also check with your local tree trimmers who may bring back branches to their business to send through a chipper.

I have plenty of trees in my yard and branches from my neighbors. It's a goldmine of branches. Too many right now for my small place, so I'll have no trouble finding the exact one I need.

You can go out looking for branches in your yard, ask friends or family, go to the country, etc, and spray-paint the branch/branches of your choice white. Or order from the internet.

A forrest maybe, you could call the Forrest Department. If you should go into the wild take a gun and wear Rattlesnake Boots.
    • In CA it is against the law to take items out of the forest without a permit. I am the neighborhood rattlesnake catcher. Do NOT attempt unless you know what you are doing. And I do this without a gun. This lady wants tree branches, easily obtainable without stealing, shooting and worrying about rattlesnakes.

Forgot to mention ---Not only does Save On Crafts sell bare branches, you can get pre-lit ones from them, (and bare or lit trees) or Google "lit branches", there are TONS, all kinds, all over the internet, and you can get L.E.D. (I like the warm white LED), or Halogen, and your branches can be black or white or tan or brown, with or without snow, or with glitter-snow, the choices are amazing! I have snowy white branches with white lights in my bedroom at Christmas, which I hang ornaments on. I like crystal ornaments on the branches, personally, but will switch it up with all colors this time. For Easter, plain white branches are great for hanging faux Easter Eggs. For Fall, little tiny pumpkins and gourds, candy corn, acorns, tiny pine cones, little leaves on orange, yellow, red, burgundy, brown, gold. For the 4th of July, little flags!

I have a couple branches I found after rainstorms, just lying on the ground. Alternatively, you can check with your city - if there are particular branches you like, find out when they're going to be trimmed and ask for a branch.
