Would love to see your porch to give better advise! Maybe start with a wreath, or door hanging add battery operated light strand to it. On one side or both sides of door add a container of branches (from your yard? ) add rocks to container. Decorate branches with lights, ornaments, or bows. Keep it simple.
Here is my front porch this year... I painted a crate, added lettering to an old toboggan and put a thrift store Christmas tree in the crate.
