Without a model number I cannot research your issue. Brother does have a web site and the manufacturer is always the best source for information on using their products.

Bummer. I was unaware of this kind of device and I think it is really cool.
I'm dealing with a different kind of electronic device as we speak. Just out of warranty, tech support is out of ideas, and they actually don't make it anymore. Price is similar to your applique station. Looks like I'm buying a new model that hopefully will be more durable. As I said, bummer.
Sorry we could not provide any help, but if the maker is out of ideas there is little chance that anyone else can fix their product. Was worth a try though.
