Any ideas how to update this mirror I pick up at a garage sale.

I love the shape, but not the rooster. I would use it in FL Mobil home or our house in Northern WI. Thanks for your ideas.

Were you planning on putting in a picture? It would help to be able to see it.
It is hard to visualize what you have. Is the rooster a painted or decal on the mirror frame? If so, I would use a stripper to remove the paint or stain and rooster, then either re-stain and seal or repaint and seal any way you want. Have fun
Is the rooster part of the frame? Sure wish there was a picture to see.
