One way to get a stained glass look is to use clear-drying craft glue and add black paint or dye to it. Then draw the outline of the pattern you want using the blackened glue....sorta like a coloring book outline. Let it dry completely. Add a small bit of food coloring to Mod Podge or clear glue and "paint" it inside the black outlines. This method works great on old windows or on window panels in your door, etc.

I used puffy paint and acrylics for this step stool. It would also work on glass.

Molly's got it! That is the easiest, most inexpensive way to recreate a stained glass look. Be sure to practice a bit with your black 'lead' material first so you can get even lines. And remember there is a BIG difference between translucent and opaque colors when you're talking stained glass effects. Have a "clear" idea of what you want before you start this project!
