You mean old ceramic butter churn type crocks right? I see suggestions for corks...
If they are antiques , for heaven sakes don't paint them! LOL you can however put a potted plant on the inside of it by the windows look cool. Or you can put some type of dried flower arrangement that looks cool -

If the crocks are not too heavy, they look great on top of kitchen cabinets.
