HELP...WHAT ARE THESE??

Okay, I kind of know what they are...but not in detail! Love the research...but have come to a dead end on these 4 beauties! PLEASE Read the description under each photo for what I do know! Thanks in advance for any info you can share! Anyone? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?
A friend suggested it was a Corner Chair, but it really does not fit into a corner. It seems really old...all made of wood. It is around15.5" across at widest point, 14.25" Deep, 29" High.
Love the simple lines and the shape of the seat...but am perplexed by around when it was made. The seat painted by last owner is made of plank wood & seems to have a circle damage in the middle of it , but still love it!
I know this is mid century, but it is too thin for magazines and the only other thing I could guess is a very small fireplace wood log holder.
It is 19.5" Long, 8.25" Deep and 3.75" High.
This one perplexes me the most. It seems like a desk bell but what di the other two circles hold. Cups with pens??? Can not find anything like it online!
The bell is rusted, but the rest is in great shape...help me figure this one out! A teacher's desk bell???
Okay, did find enough info to figure that this is a Turkish Milk/Water Jug...but want to figure out how old it is. I found one with the same markings, but different shape that sold on ebay...but has not info with it.
On the bottom it is marked with Cangaytar and Bursa, which is a city in Turkey. It has as a circle wit what looks like the side view of a funny looking face. Under that is a 1 and 4 kind of far apart. Anyone?

    Oh...the bell thing measures: 6" across X 5.5" High! The Turkish Copper/Brass Milk/Water Jug is 7.5" High X 5.5" Across at bottom.

First I love the chairs! I think they're called tripod chairs and that they're Danish modern. I found several similar by searching tripod chairs, so try that. The second piece I do think is a log holder. I remember ones similar from wen I was young. And the cedar thingie reminds me of the nut sets/bowls that were everywhere in the fifties, and I saw something similar on Etsy that held condiment bowls. Is the bell permanently attached? I found the ebay listing you spoke of on the copper container and it said the item was from sometime in the 1800s and was hand hammered and formed. Does that fit yours? Hope you can get more help. They are lovely finds.

@Lori Kelly Oh my gosh...what a great idea. i think it was made after quill pens and ink wells...but I love the visual of that!

I think your long log shaped item is a fruit bowl. A family friend had one similar on her coffee table with fake fruit in it. But in goldish metal. That would have been in the 1960's. And I don't think the bell thing had a bell in it's beginning. Looks like a condiment or serving tray. It may have also been tourist trade.

@My Gnome Little World Good luck on finding what this gem really is. Maybe it was travelled to Georgia by a sticky fingered motel guest? Have fun and happy hunting. I'm in Canada and find lots of odd things at yard sales too.

I have two three-legged chairs that were bought in Madrid, Spain in the early 1960's and the man that made them told us they were "birthing chairs". I don't know if all three-legged chairs serve the same purpose in other cultures. But it's worth mentioning.

Okay Wait...I just looked them up. They look so much different. Funny thing, I thought the "point" of my triangle seat would get in the way. I see now the real birthing chairs have rectangle shaped seats..makes sense! Thanks for the info though!

@Irish53 I swear mine is older because The arches at the top of the legs and the square shaped legs as opposed to round or soft edges....as the mid century/wegner chairs have backs that are some much more curved than the one I have. A knock off maybe???

Birthing chairs have a large opening for the baby to pass through. They have a bucket of sorts underneath. The metal stands are from when wax fruit was in vogue.

@Diane C Hi, Thank you for the link! I have already researched corner chairs and it is really is not one. As a corner chair is really square in shape and fits in a corner quite snuggley. Mine is not square and really it's shape does not fit in with the lines of a corner at all. Most of them have 4 legs, mine has 3, most of them have a square seat, mine has a triangle seat...and so on! Really appreciate you looking though!

When I was a young girl (ages ago) we had one of the "log holder" things. We used it to put our shoes on it to dry them out over a floor vent. What the original purpose is though I do not know but would like to find out. Thanks

I'm not positive but, in the Danish Modern era,,,, there were several manufacturers of this type of chairs.... NOW HIGHLY collectable don't know that much about them,,,,maybe google vintage modern furnature ?? and look at the photos..you may have a copy of that style or a diamond find..

Although I made a comment on your odd chair (corner chair), I forgot I have one stored away. However it is metal. The back reminds of something that would have been in a "Soda Shop" in the 50's. It fits perfect with a little antique dressing table. Besides its unusual design, the little bugger is very comfortable to sit on.

Thanks everyone...Got answers on the chair and black MCM wire tray....BUT still wondering what that bell thingy is or at least where it was from /used!
  • Julia Julia on Apr 01, 2014
I wonder if the thingy with the bell at one time had ink wells?
  • Wanda sinnema Wanda sinnema on Apr 02, 2014
I was looking at the bell and wooden piece its in.... I'm wondering is the bell removable? or in pretty tight. My thoughts after looking at it might have been used at dry goods store.. having twine spools in the other 2 spots,, a bell for counter service.. Or other thought is I wonder if glass jars with lids could have fit in the spots.. maybe for cigars and ashtray,,If the beel might be an add on.....? My uncle had something this reminds me of by his favorite chair..always ready for a good cigar or pipe tabacco...back in the day...
    • Sfg178760 Sfg178760 on Apr 02, 2014
@Wanda sinnema The bell is original securely attached with old screws. It may be any of those things...still can't anything like it online. The only thing similar is a mid century nut bowl with the same bark wood around it.
