How can I decorate closet walls?

I recently took down a shelf in my closet and now there is a line where i didn't paint and the plain paint just looks boring. I was thinking of using contact paper but I couldn't find any that were pretty and cheap enough. I don't want to spend a lot but I want it to look nice.

How about creating your own stencil to fill in the unpainted part of the wall?

Perhaps you could find a stencil you like and use that to paint a pattern on the closet wall in a color that goes with your bedroom décor.

Use wallpaper paste or even mod-podge on the backside. Brush lightly, then stick to wall. Good luck!

Buy some 6" wallpaper trim rolls at Lowe's. They have lots of pretty designs and are easy to install.
