mix bleach with water. Do t know the exact proportions. Dip cones in solution for a few Seconds and they be clean.
i soaked them in a laundry tub to bleach them. bleach and hot water. They close up when they get wet, so I spread them out on newspapers to dry . Then I'd bake them in the oven on low Til the sap melts and then they were glazed. Very pretty when glazed. Didn't get real light with the bleach.
You may be better painting them lol
