How to keep paper towels from unrolling in wind in our kitchen?

I would like to adapt some type of paper towel holder so all the towels don't unroll when our gusty winds blow. Right now I keep them under the sink cabinet but would like to them to be readily available by the sink, BBQ and stove. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

  • If you have a vertical, weighted holder, I just wedge in a large mitt or a couple pot holders in the vacant space. Some use rubberbands, but that never worked for me.

I di something similar to that with the roll on the deck, I used one of my cleaner garden tools to wedge against the roof boards, It is an A-frame. Thanks

I stand mine with a vertical stand inside a half crate to box out the wind. I used a small crate from Michaels, drilled a 1" hole for my dowel (which I also purchased at Michaels), and I use the box to block the wind and I can keep it vertical or I can lay it flat-- depending on what I am doing at the time.

Use a paper clip or binder clip

That's what I did but I used a clothespin, the problem is you have to keep taking it off every time you want a piece of the paper towels.

use a smaller internal rod to hold the paper towels and squeeze the cardboard tube so that it is no longer round and this keeps the paper towels from rolling around the rod of the paper towel holder
