How to stop swinging plants

by Itsmemic
I bought these really cool planters that hang from each other by a cable and hook. Three that hang. I love them..painted them...put plants in them..LOVE them..BUT? They won't stop swinging !!! Even a slight breeze from me walking by starts them swinging back and forth again ! I am afraid all that swinging will make the hook loose they are hanging from in a wooden beam. HELP !

You can try adding some stones on the bottom for extra weight. It shouldn't take much to keep the planters steady in all but really strong winds. Test them before adding your plants and adjust as needed.

I think I would tie/glue a fishing line to the bottom planter and secure it to the floor with a cute covered brick or screw eye.

can't do that..dogs walking around will hang themselves. I mean would YOU want a fishing line from a planter to your floor? What a hazard that would be . But thanks for the input.

the cables are way to shorten although I think that's the best bet. No..I don't want a fishing line to a brick on the floor !! :)

I have pots on the patio that were being tipped over in the wind until I put stones or a brick in the bottom of each planter. It works for me. Maybe just put something heavy in the bottom pot.

Weight them down with rocks in the bottom of the pot. That will stabilize them. :)

tried that.. no good..just makes the swinging a hazard ! The pots ARE heavy in themselves too...but still they swing ! They are hanging from S hooks to each other..maybe a different kind of connection? I'm totally baffeled. I've never had this problem..outside inthe wind of course..but in the house? Weird.
