Does it have any markings on the bottom, like Murano? or an etched signature? use a magnifying glass to find an etched signature as they are very fine. If its just marked Made in Italy or Made in Venice, its probably a copy. Probably a 50s/60s piece that many still collect. https://www.google.com/search?q=Murano+peacock+glass+figures&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbs=rimg:CWw1L5nxkDwmIjisN_1JizEWxcjVG75N3EivsPL7i5oU8ZOM35n0-WDBsDUIiKJojYA--2OGU6BGGLdwjf_100Q6KVtioSCaw38mLMRbFyERbj_1xvgjPwaKhIJNUbvk3cSK-wRUInVTmBp6koqEgk8vuLmhTxk4xE7yrXUbOqqHyoSCTfmfT5YMGwNEccuFy3CcGUIKhIJQiIomiNgD74R-cruqv2-u_1kqEgnY4ZToEYYt3BEW4_18b4Iz8GioSCSN_1_1TRDopW2EQt5FUUxdJ8x&tbo=u&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwidkpX-hvzYAhVFymMKHa6HCCwQ9C8IHw&biw=884&bih=439&dpr=1.5

Agree with Murano, Venice, but I haven't seen non-permanent Counry of Origin on pieces there.
During the 70's a great deal of glass pieces like this were coming from Mexico. The reason I bring this up is the bell shaped base your peacock sits on was very common in these pieces. I have 3 my mum bought during a trip to Mexico and several more were divided between my siblings. All sat on the glass bell shaped base like yours has. Truly lovely pieces of glass artwork.
During the early 70's, My high school church group went on a trip to Europe to follow some of Luther's travels. We went to Venice and visited the Venice glass factory where I purchased some blown glass figures. All the figures I saw, they were standing on their own feet, no matter how small they were, This made them very fragile. I don't think that figure is from Venice, but it is very beautiful.
Submit your photo and inquiry to the folks at the Glass Pavilion inside the Toledo Art Museum. Their curators should know this piece right away. http://www.toledomuseum.org/glass-pavilion/
Definitely not Italian
My grandmother had one of these and other glass figures. Take your treasure to an antique store, they can advise you and they have reference books on glass blown items. These are collectibles and have increased in value.
I'm 65 years old and I remember my grandmother had one that was similar to that one. I was really young, and remember it so well because I almost got beat for nearly knocking it off the table where it was displayed. And generally, I could do no wrong in her eyes. She died at age 100 back in 2007 and it was still in her house. I have no idea who happened to get it, or where she got it originally. So yes, it is probably at least 60 - 70 years old. Maybe older.
They can be raised in a cage anywhere - yours might have come from the zoo originally.
It's very pretty, but I don't think it is Murano glass. The base doesn't look like anything I have seen there.
My husband has one that he won at the fair about 60 years ago in Fort Myers, FL, just a different color. Its value to him is the memory.
