grey emulsion slapped here and there. then then satin paint over or varnish, then rub down in places as desired.........

get stain color you want to use ! Or paint! You can dry brush dfferent colors on the wood! I took old dark paneling dry brushed with paint ta extra off as I went did all different colors on the wall! If to bright or bold I took Belk or grey paint dry brushed over it quick! Looks just like barn board
Black paint or grey you can also do a darker stain ! Dry brush! Dry brush to still show grain in wood
An easy way is to get a small torch and lightly run it over the boards. You can kind of bang on the boards with thing to give them dings, etc. if you want them to have a "used" look.
Beat it with a large chain, run over it with the car... large grit sand paper, the term for this is "distressing"
