Polly, these are so easy to make. You are half way there since you already have the sheets to work with! Look at the different ways these gals have made theirs.

Start by measuring the box spring from the head of the bedside, across the foot Then and up the other bedside. Allowing for pleats or ruffles, this is the measurement with which you'll work. Then measure the depth from the top of the box spring edge to the floor. Cut your sheets in strips that also allow for at least one inch hem on each edge. Sew this together, and either attach elastic inside one hem or just stitch it by hand to the box spring. Since my bed skirt is just there to hide what's under the bed, mine is black and stitched onto the box spring. I use colored skirts that are shorter to coordinate with the bed lined.
Hi Polly! Here are some great ideas for you for your project! Good luck to you!

I need a dust ruffle for my queen Sleep Number bed.
I made one from painter's drop cloth, but you could use the same concept to make one with sheets. Here is the tutorial http://beautyforasheshome.com/diy-bed-skirt-no-sew-dropcloth/
