Love the beams. Hate the brown.
How can I make my cabin feel relaxing, pretty & year-round amazing?
I just bought this "hunters cabin" on 21 acres. It's a little to rustic/manly for me. How can I make it relaxing, pretty & yr round amazing?
Loft ladder to the right. Nailed to the wall. But entry door is right next to it. So I can make it come out more.
Loft bedroom
1 of 2 very small rooms. #2 is to the left same size. Could take the wall down. Make 1 room.
Livingroom. Wood burner is coming out
Kitchen- no room. Cube frig & flat top stove. Wall to the right. Might fit a full size frig. Over/stove maybe where the cube frig is.
O and no washer/dryer hook up & no where to put it lol

Hi Nick, just imaging what you want it to look like and feel like and just make it happen.
I would start by repainting the brown struts a lighter springier color not neccesarily white but a creamy color then I would start vining house plants to grow around and across the beam or turn it into a focal point shelf for either books or vases just starting with changing the color of the beams and struts will totally change the look and the walls will be inhanced its what I did in a similar situation it totally transformed the room and made lighting the room surprisingly easier to do
Perhaps some new light fixtures? The details in your ceiling are gorgeous. I wouldn't change those, but if you dislike it perhaps just paint ONE element? Maybe paint the beams black for a more modern look? Accessories and furniture choices will go a long way in taking down the rustic a notch or two. Congrats on your new home! I hope you have fun decorating.
i would paint the beams and trim a darker shade of gray, would compliment the light color of the wood. Get rid of the window valances they make the room look shorter and don’t serve a real purpose.
You didn’t mention a bathroom (or show a pic). If there is one near the room that you mentioned taking the wall down, maybe increase the size of the bathroom also and install a stackable washer and dryer.
I’d take out the flat top stove snd mini fridge and put in a real stove and put a small fridge where you mentioned.
Must have been a heck of a deal to buy something there is not much you like about it .
