I've given my son a couple of quilts, the sofa or lap robe sizes. Also, a wall hanging that had a masculine theme of trees, cabins, etc. I'm not sure what your skills are but you can make jewelry that is suitable for a man...if you sculpt, you can make something in a subject he likes...in my family that is usually bears, deer, etc. If you don't do art work you could always make a collage picture of subjects he likes like cars, hunting, etc.
