What can I put in an empty wall area?
I need a suggestion for an area above a stove where the tile work ends and wall starts. It’s sitting between cabinets. Wish I could send pics.

I WOULD TRY ONE OR TWO 8 OR 10 INCH SHELVES. JUST REMEMBER THAT WHTEVER YOU PUT ON THE SHELVES WILL BE RECEIVING THE STEAMS OF WHATEVER IS COOKED. DECORATIVE GLASS OBJECTS WOULD BE EASIER TO CLEAN LATER.
Hi Pat, would one of those tin ceiling tiles fit well in that area? It would be easily cleaned.
Whatever you eventually decide to put here, it will be important that the material is not only heat proof, but also one that does not burn at low temperatures.
Keeping in mind that most kitchen fires begin on the stove top, fads such as putting contact paper near the stove are not safe, as they burn very quickly.
If you are still uncertain about what might/might not be safe, you could pop into your local fire department and ask the firefighters for their recommendation.
