Trying to hang our wallpaper is getting to be a nightmare, cuz first we can't get it straight on the wall without going down hill, and then we get one part looking halfway decent and all of a sudden we get wrinkles that won't get out no matter how hard we smooth it out and no matter how many times we unpeel it from our wall and start over.

How about if hanging horizontally using chair rail as a guide? No matter how we start out straight it doesn't stay that way plus not being able to get rid of wrinkles. We got half our wall along top of the chair rail but the bottom wasn't cooperating so it isn't done yet. Any advice for horizontal hanging of the wallpaper?I

You need to use a plumb line and that becomes the line that you place your first sheet up against so it is straight. Then work your way out from that. Occasionally use another plumb line as you go to ensure that the paper is hanging 100% straight.
