Have you tried using masking tape? You may have to use electrical tape or duct tape if it is exposed to the outside.
What kind of glass?
Mnd, I am sorry, I do not understand your question. If you are trying to cover the side of a mirror, then you can put tape on it, til you are ready to hang it in a safe place. Remain safe, and always watch those edges, ok? Always handle with gloves also. If you are going to install in the bathroom, always leave the door open a bit, to prevent steaming up. If this can't be done, then turn on your vent in the ceiling. Best wishes, J.
they make a special copper tape for stained glass work that might be ideal (it also comes with the non-sticky side colored silver)
a whetstone or stone grinding wheel can be used
in some cases, glass etching paste can also be used, leaving the edges feeling a little like beach glass.
Thank you I think I am going to try the copper tape
