Call him back to finish the job! Tell him you are going to file a complaint if he has been paid and does not want to come back. Reviews online are also read by many people.

was there enough of it at the supplier? they may be waiting for the next shipment. at bigger chains they call to a sister store that may be out of the area- that delays the material as well, or...that particular crown molding may have been discontinued and just a few pieces are available. did you call and chat with the contractor? be polite, ask when they will be back to finish. I had a contractor that waited 4 weeks to get supplies in. it didn't help that the Mississippi river was flooding....barge traffic was at a stand still.

did you give the contractor any funds when they started the job? did you fill out a contract sating who would supply what materials and how often the contractor would be paid? never give an "advance" payment to a contractor. state in the contract will be paid "x" dollars when job is completed to your satisfaction, and it meets codes. have a state inspector come in.

I have the supplies as I ordered more than enough for this part of the renovations as this was the initial part of my project. He was to install crown molding & base boards. The work was done well with the exception of these two issues. I had planned to continue with additional rooms after trying this contractor out. I have already paid. He is coming back, but will be charging me more. This is my first time using this contractor.
