How can I hide or get rid of this 70's mirror in my living room??

I bought and moved into my house less than a year ago. It's a great house but definately needs to be updated. There is a huge mirror in my living room attached to my kitchen wall seperating them. How can I get rid of or fashionably hide this ugly 70s mirror on a tight budget???
You can cover with wallpaper, contact paper, fabric, even a faux shiplap. There is a glass paint you could use with stencils.
I would try hanging drapes across mirror and pulling back a portion to mimic a window.Place a small table (in pic?) In front of open drape space. Will still reflect some light and should work.
You could embrace the mirror by framing it with some moulding. You can buy it primed and ready to paint!
Stencil it with trees stencils. I think it would look great.
If you decide to wallpaper it. get premixed vinyl prep (Sherwin Williams) and put this on the mirror first. just glue will not do a good job.
replace with a barn door
i have that same mirrored wall c. 1986 and have embraced it. I used it as a regular wall and placed my sofa and end table (in the corner at the end of the sofa) against it and cornered a nice bookcase on the other corner. My mirror reflects the outside and gives us an extended view of the flowers and greenery plus it brings in much needed light to our condo. If that is something you can's do how about wainscoting half way up and putting a credenza or sofa table against it with a nice arrangement of flowers or plants in lovely containers? You could use Command hooks to hang pictures (art work not photos) across it that are similar in type.
I would remove the mirror, and paint the wall.
I would remove it altogether. Your space would be more open.
You could always put a mural over it. They have lots of options these days. Society 6 is one company.
You could also make a textured wall with randomly torn tissue paper and white glue. Pick a color tissue paper you like or a variety of colors that work well together. I’d stick with three colors so it doesn’t become overwhelming & too choppy.
Obviously ripping the mirrors off the wall is the goal but if you don’t have the funds, there are fairly inexpensive options to deal until you can get it done professionally.

Several years ago in the Chicago Dream Home at the Merchandise mart, a designer transformed a mirrored wall by papering it with sheets of rice paper, overlapping the seams. It was beautiful.
