Boring House Entrance!

My house is a white sided ranch with white trim around the windows and doors, a solid white front door, a 3-car garage with some red brick facing and black shutters around the front window. So boring! What can I do to liven it up?

I would choose a reddish color from the brick.

Flowers! And shrubs! Plant some to instantly liven up and warm up your home.

Pull a red tone from the brick and paint your front door. Increase the impact by adding some flowers, planter or bench in the same color.

With almond paint and the brick you describe, you choose an analogous color like shades of brown, tan or burnt orange.

Or, a bold color like plum

Think of it like choosing a tie for a tan suit.

Wow I think that last picture is gorgeous. That's what I would do if I were you.

I'm simplistic, so I'd paint the front door black to match your shutters and incorporate plants for color. Colorful pots on your front porch and at your home's entrance will give big impact.

Take a picture of the front of your home to a local garden center and let them suggest plants and shrubs that will enhance the entry.

Add a new colorful doormat and if you have a light, be sure it's black as well. You can always spray paint what you have if you can't afford a new one.
