How do I fill the gap between new shower and old flooring?

Also the old flooring needs to be replaced.
I have never seen a gap between the shower and the floor. The flooring in generally butted up to the shower. But if there is a gap maybe something similar to a rubber stair riser? It might have to be cut down for this purpose but I don't know how big of a gap you are referring to.
Maybe using Grout? Or Bathroom white silicone?
Yes, I would suggest replacing the old flooring. Then it will be the proper height and the proper fit. You can't leave it like that because the subfloor is exposed. I can't believe that your contractor left it like that.
I agree with Shore grandmom. Nothing you can fill the gap that will hold and seal. Replacing the flooring is the best solution.
In order to avoid problems with it getting wet underneath, take out the flooring and put in tile! You have to be careful not to allow for moisture in places where black mold can take over!
Hi Antoinette, if you need to use this shower, for the time being until you replace the floor, use a 4 inch rubber baseboard. It's fairly cheap. Instead of using it as a baseboard, you will lay it on the floor. Put the edge that is typically on the floor butt against the shower. The curved lip will then lay on the vinyl flooring. Use caulk both underneath on the subflooring to hold it in place and around all the edges.
