Read all the comments on Brittany's link. Oil is not a good choice for hardwood floors.
Lot of work and looks amazing. Only problem a lot of cleaning products can be harsh on oiled floors and pull the oil out of the wood since there is no sealer coat. It also needs to be reapplied every few years just like on furniture. A better solution for oiled floors would be Danish oil. It's a mixture of oil and varnish.
Agree with William. Oil will not last not even a year maybe. Traffic and dust will damage the finish pretty quick. We just did our house and the worker sanded wood to the grain and apply 3 coats of floor sealer/varnish. He said it should last at least 10 years. It looks awesome!!
