Are you sure you want to take this task on yourself.If it was me I would hire a professional,Sanding floor and refinishing is a huge task .
It is a huge task but i cant afford to hire someone to do it for me. Thanks
I have had good luck refinishing them like you would a piece of furniture- stripping, washing with solvent, light sanding, staining, and varnishing. They don't come out looking brand new, but they retain an appearance appropriate to the age of the house. Only attempt this when you can have the windows open and use appropriate ventilation, and safety gear and precautions.
