How to treat bad soil?
I’ve had two rose bushes die this year and don’t know why?

It could be they got too much water.
Are they in Shade or too much sun and not enough water?
Also there is a weird virus that causes the leaves to grow all twisted and the garden centers here say nothing can save those. Dig out the dirt where you roses died if you think this might be the case because it is fungus or virus starts in the roots.
If you have hard clay soil like N Texas, add more compost or organic matter. An handful of Epsom Salt is good around each bush.
