Cactus needs sandier soil and not as much watering as succulents. If you can leave the cactus in a small pot and plant that, you could keep it dryer and try it that way.Helpful Reply -

Yes, you can replant them in potting soil with your other succulents. I'm afraid you might be watering them too much though. Cacti and most succulents thrive in very dry conditions. I water mine once a week and very small amounts of water. Not like my regular house plants. I hope this helps you. Happy Holidays.Helpful Reply -

Over watering will kill them for sure, they rot! Buy a cati potting mix, wouldn't water more than once a month. They live in the desert! Once rot starts, they are done.Helpful Reply -

. reI wouldn't. In Wisconsin I bring my cacti outside in a protected area in a hot dry area of our porch. I only give them water once a week. This time of year, I bring them indoors in our sunroom, where they get light, but I don't heat that room, and it gets into the 50's. They are planted in gravelly sand, and I water only slightly every other week in wintHelpful Reply -

Cactus and succulents should be in cacti/succulent dirt. Regular potting soil doesn't have enough sand and so retain water longer which isn't good for the cacti/succulents.Helpful Reply -
