Is there an easy way to water hanging baskets?

Has anyone invented a device that can lower the baskets?

Yes, you put the pot on a pulley and can tie the rope to wall or the weight of another plant. They also make a wand waterer that reaches up high to water.

Wal-Mart actually sells plant pulleys to raise and lower hanging plants.

You can use one of the attachments on the hose that extends quite far, some are longer than others. Just make sure it has a shut off so that you can turn the water off between the baskets. I have two window boxes up on a privacy fence that I cant reach and the attachment came to my rescue. It also extends your reach in the garden so you can possibly water it without going into the garden to get to those back plants.

Cut a slit in a regular water bottle cap(carefully), large enough for the water to seep out slowly. Fill with water turn upside down in the plant and check regularly to keep water bottle filled.

I agree with answer above. You can purchase slow watering bottle. But why buy when you can make yourself? I would put a couple pin holes in the bottle. Fill it with water and place inside basket. I actually use milk jugs with same method if I'm going out of town. I put a jug next to each plant and they slowly do the watering for me. (My neighbor's little girl asked why I was growing milk)
