Are they little holes and does it look like it has been dug up (kind of like ant hills)? I can't tell from your picture. In our area we have "sand bees" which burrow in the ground. They are large bee-looking insects that feed on cicadas. We've been trying to get rid of ours for years but nothing we've tried has been successful. But then that may not be your problem.Helpful Reply -

You may have skunks , opossums visiting you at night and eating / digging grubs out of your lawn. I have similar marks. A neighbor working late shift saw a skunk digging in mine. This is good as grubs are not good for the grass.Helpful Reply -

Depending on where you live, it could also be armadillos digging in the yard.Helpful Reply -

They look like what I have - mine are from squirrels looking for nuts from my oak tree. Silly squirrels forget where they hid them so are digging up my whole yard.Helpful Reply -

Put down milky spore to kill grubs. Its organic. You have to put it down 2 or 3 times the first year, but it can last 10 to 20 years! Raccoons and possums make holes like this in our yard. They pull the grass back then dig for the grub. We got our milky spore from Amazon in a bag. You apply it with a spreader just like you do with seed or fertilizer. Good luck!Helpful Reply -
