Looks like an oak gall to me. Look up life cycle of Gall Wasp. Pretty facinating.

I have "galls" on my oak tree but they are fuzzy white balls with pink spots and it turns out that they contain mites. By August my tree will have lost all its leaves...
This is not an oak tree. The leaves are too thick and waxy. My bet is it's a fig tree and that ball is an immature fig. Watch it and if it turns deep red it's a fig. Eat it - they're delicious... especially right off the tree.

It looks like a baby avacado and i think the leaves look like avacado leaves more then fig or oak . i dont know about the wasp thing
