What’s the best fertilizer to use on grass in South Carolina in Marc

Grass slow to start growing in my yard in March; advise best fertilizer for great start resulting in fast & thick grass in Southeast???

    Get a soil test done to see what kind of soil you have. If you get it done through your County Agricultural Extension office, it's about $10.00 and they will tell you exactly what your soil needs rather than spending money on a commercial mix your soil may not need.

    I agree with 2dogal, but also find out what kind of grass you have. My grass doesn't start greening up (NC) until May. It might be the kind of grass you have and not the fertilizer.

    more harm than good can be done by applying 'nutrients' to plants/lawns when they are not needed -- especially if it's the wrong nutrient.
