I like it. Not everything has to match. This is on the ceiling and so not big deal if your taps are chrome. If you do decide to paint, I'd spray it.

I had great luck spray painting mine. It made a world of difference. I used Rustoleum Silver. That was about 3 years ago. Looks great.

Depending on your décor, you could also choose a charcoal/black spray.

You can get a beautiful finish using Krylon spray enamels. As a faux finisher , there are a few tricks that really make a difference...buy two colors and spray them at the same time....or two finishes and the same color...they will blend as you spray them and give you a really nice finish that looks professional.
