Have you thought about installing some pull-out shelves? It could make it easier to store and retrieve things!
I have the same issue. my lower cabinets have a door that opens from the other side, kind of a pain in the neck. But, I put stuff there I don't use very often.. As for the uppers I'd like to find a small carousel, like the ones you see for lower cabinets. Small sized single layer.. They don't use all the space very well, but its better than not using it at all..
