Vinyl click down wood look.
Laminate and Vinyl would both work in the kitchen.Vinyl has become a very popular look.
It all depends on how much you can afford. Laminate is cheaper than engineered wood, but engineered wood tends to be thicker. There are also vinyl tiles and planks available in the wood design. Vinyl has to be glued while wood types can either be nailed or click.
Wood planking will last longer and be more resistant to marring.
Yes, you can now get vinyl strips that look just like wood. It's available at the big box stores. Comes in various designs and colors so you can get a soft look or a shiny look to suit your preference. I would not use wood laminate. If you have a refrigerator or dishwasher leak it will expand and will need to be torn out....probably the same for real wood. Vinyl!
Depends on your budget. Most people go for solid wood if they can afford it,I certainly would. Plus always think of resale value. Real wood is an investment, just protect it by your sink so that you don't do too much damage to it but you would wipe up water from any floor.
I would go with the laminated planks. Easy to clean.
A wood-look ceramic tile. I would not suggest placing laminate nor real wood in any wet areas of your home.
I've had wood flooring in one of my kitchens and I would suggest a tile floor. The wood dings and scratches if you drop anything or if you have children or pets running threw it. There are some tiles that look so much like wood that you can't tell the difference. And it's easier to clean. If you're worried about it being cold there are heating elements that can go under the floor to keep it warm and they work very well.
Laminated wood floors are excellant. Make sure to follow directions, that come with the laminate.
