Best cord for wind chimes?
My back yard gets unexpected heavy wind and I have resorted to short chimes that don't tangle but they still break too soon even using strong fishing line. Any suggestions for tough stringing material?

I have used heavy unwaxed dental floss to restring the chimes. It lasted for quite a while.
You might want to try to braid the heavy gauge fishing line to triple the strength. For super heavy duty, use 9 strands of fishing line and braid three at a time. Make them extra long to make up for the lines drawing up some as they are braided. Everything depends on the weight of your chimes.
Hmmm, most of my chimes are fairly lightweight but this is a good idea. So hard to pick chimes that don't blow wildly or just hang there too heavy to make any noise! Thanks for the suggestion!
Maybe some chain looped around whatever you're hanging it from. You could also open up the links and connect the chimes to the chain it's hanging from.
I ALSO HAVE LOTS OF WIND CHIME THAT HAVE BEEN BROKEN BY THE WINDS, I WENT TO HOBBY LOBBY, AND GOT #95 PARACORD, ITS $ 2.99 FOR 50 FT. , IT COMES IN DIFFERENT COLORS. I REDONE 6 OF MY WIND CHIME WITH THIS, WE HAVE HAD 25-40 MILE AN HOUR WIND, AND IT HAS HELD UP GREAT, JUST REMEMBER TO BURN THE ENDS SO IT DOES NOT FRAY OUT . ENJOY YOUR WIND CHIME AGAIN,
