Just put in a garden bed designed for the birds, want flowering ground cover to hide the weeds that come up from the bird seed and want it colorful thru out the year, the area gets bright afternoon sun

Do you mind a creeping ground cover? Vinca minor is quite sturdy. In my zone 7 it even stays green all year despite below freezing temperatures and the ven snow. I’m trying to cultivate up near my mailbox, the roadside can get quite weedy.
