How can I re-do a bricked corner of flowers in my yard?

A small corner of my yard is bricked off in the shape of a half moon and filled with dirt, a dying little tree and flowers/weeds. It's too symmetrical for my taste .... and I'm wanting to make it more natural looking. My back yard is on the smaller side, so I don't want anything too big or high maintenance:/ I bought my home 5 years ago and have wanted to change it since then. I'm no gardner, so I need some real help with this.

It is hard to second guess what exactly the space looks like. Please post a picture of the corner in the yard that you want to improve. That way we could instantly see what is there now, the space you have to work with, and would then be able to offer practical low-maintenance solutions for the area.

If you can remove the brick maybe you can use something like Vigoro no dig landscaping edging (I get mine at Home Depot) and depending on the direction the spot faces you can plant some perennials and or annuals. I will be glad to help you out is you can give me the direction that spot faces. and the state you are in so I can see what zone you are in to make the correct suggestion.
