I have a large yard a lot of it is under shade. What can I plant that will look pretty but survive? I'd like for it to blend in with the part of the yard that does have grass.

I like Hostas and Impatiens. Hostas are large greens and yellow striped classic landscaping plants that require very little care or maintenance and like the shade. Impatiens like partial shade and reward you with bushels of colors from bright red and orange, to purple, pink and white. They also require little or no attention. Good luck!

Various Herbs will grow happily and provide for your kitchen. Many ferns and ground orchids will provide a lovely blend.

I am sure everyone is saying Hostas as they look so great in the shade and come in all shades of color and variegated. Annuals.. Inpatients. They look lovely mixed together .
