What kind of fence do you have now?

Purchasing a big cantilevered umbrella is probably going to be easier and less expensive than attempting to build any fence properly that is high enough to block the neighbour's view.

My neighbor use to stand on an upside down bucket to look over our fence. So we gave them something to see. 😱 we stripped down to get into hot tub. Never were we bothered again. Later we planted Leland cypress trees.

Ha!Ha! That is so funny! I liked that idea. The cypress trees grow tall so I like them. Thanks again for your help!

Add a trellis and plant climbing vines, or add posts and hang curtains.

Never thought of possibly hanging curtains or do a trellis. This sounds really nice! Very inexpensive! I have a sewing machine I could make the curtains myself or find some on clearance. Thanks so much for your help!

You could put a tall trellis in front of the fence at the place where they can see over, and grow a thick vine up it. Many vines grow fast, like Dutchman's Pipe, Hops, Ivy, etc. That would take up less ground space then a shrub or tree, but if you have the room, look into the ones that are fast-growing, like the Leyland Cypress which J suggested. For example, I planted a Prague viburnum which keeps its leaves over winter, and it got to be about 10 feet tall in a couple of years.
