What is best to use for a lawn edge?

We live in the country and I usually use the cub cadet lawn edger and a tool to get a beautiful edge. Well my husband thought using a backpack sprayer was a better answer.....NOT!!! So just wondering what others do to keep the lawn edges where they belong.

I still have my dad's ancient edger, which worked the best for me. Now I have a garden guy that does it for me.
