I don't know what your ceiling/roof supports are made of.......do you think it would hold a person? How about putting some plywood on the roof to stand on? Then painter wouldn't go thru (between the joists). It's not steep....goodness, I stand on my metal roof with work boots and don't slide off. Invite me down next winter and I'll paint it for you!
