If the bird bath is clear why not just paint the outside.
I agree, just paint the underside so the birds don't come in contact with the glass paint.
Is it possible you could paint on the bottom of the birdbath rather than in the bowl? That's what it looks like was done on my small glass birdbath.
Paint the underside so the paint show through, but no harm to birds!
Use the glass paint you have, as the birds would not be in danger as it is underside only!
Agree since the bird bath is clear you can paint the underside and it will show thru but not expose the birds to the paint.
Hello Gail: What I have used, with great success I might add :), is Bilge Paint! It's made for nautical use, so it's great for painting where water is going to be. Here's a great site about painting birdbaths: Safe Paint For Bird Baths: [Non-Toxic & Best Sealer] (woodsmanreport.com)
Very good idea to paint the underside, use paint specific for glass.
Yup, Paint only the underside!
Hi Gail, hope this helps you.
"Oil-based, latex or acrylic exterior paint is safe for painting birdbaths. Latex and acrylic paints are safe for use on the insides of the basin but not oil-based paint. Oil-based paint is suitable for use on other parts of the birdbath. The paint must be sealed with a non-toxic waterproof sealant and fully dried."
