Painting large flower pot

i have a shiny yellow glazed pot that I would like to paint for outside. What type of paint should I use that would last long, and how should I prepare the pot?

I would sand the glazed finish off then spray paint.
I like to use spray paint as it has the best adherence for any surface.
spray paint it with Rustoleum 2X for ceramic, giving it two light coats allowing each one to dry in-betweem,then seal it with a clear UV protectant
