I have a yucky boring rug on my front porch. Can I use a latex paint to just roll on a new brighter color? Or will it peel off? Anyone have experience with types of paint to do this?

i would get some rut dye and dye it.
Fabric can be painted with some taking the pain better than other fabrics. Try it...you have nothing to lose. I have never tried painting cloth, but the rug needs to be wet when you start and you may want to thin the pain a bit with water.
Definitely don’t do it on ur porch. I dyed one and the blue dyed the wood underneath too. Not smart on my part
