What type of paint to use on cement blocks?

I want to use cement blocks to put under a wooden wishing well to make it taller. I am thinking about painting the blocks white or another light color and then stencil vine design on them.

If you seal the blocks first and then over paint with Masonry paint, that should do the job..........Enjoy.

Hi ! First prime the portion of the cement block then use latex paints . Varnish after drying.
Behr makes a great product called granite grip that comes in many colors. I used it on my cement patio and it holds up great!
