Folding Drop Table Needs Help!

I have had this folding drop table for a few years and have always thought it could be so much better looking in my living room I'd iur had a make over. It is a 36" table, fully extended. It has been painted several times. I want to add a pop of color to my room, so I'm not afraid of painting it. Thoughts? Ideas?

If you want to paint it go ahead ,you can always paint it another color.

Nice table, I've been looking for one for my sister. Any bright color that you have already in your room. So many colors out there!

Colors in the orange or turquoise family would give you that pop of color you wanted. To go with the rest of your room.

I would love to have a table like this. I would refinish to it's beauty.

@Karen, I have thought about bringing the table back to its original beauty because it's supposed to be cherry wood. I shudder to think how many coats of paint is on the table and how much work that will be!! I do think that bringing it back to a cherry finish with a whimsical edge around the top would be gorgeous!

Do you tole paint? That is always a pretty technique. One I like a lot anyways.

Whether you paint it or restore it, I would do 1 of 3 things: As MarcellA mentioned, toll painting would look nice, especially if you restore it. If you paint it, I would either stencil it, or if you are like me and have no painting ability you can get rub on transfers that are very pretty. Or as I am about to use on my jelly cupboard, wallies are nice too. in the past I have also bought floral fabric, then cut out the flowers and decoupaged them on. Attached is a photo of an old project I did with this method. Good Luck!

I have a gate leg table like this that is in wonderful shape, but I also have one that I bought from a thrift store that was in very poor shape--broken legs and a damaged top. I painted the top a soft green, repaired the legs the best I could, and left them natural. It's in my sunroom, and it looks great.

I suggest a bright red, and black combo!
