What kind of paint?

I want to paint an old Secretary to go on my deck outside. What is the best kind of paint to use?

Everyone tells me to use Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan. It is said that if you coat it very well with the paste wax it will hold up forever. If it were me, I would also, or instead, go over it with a polyurethane and seal it very well!

I agree with Linda. I painted an old wood bench with Annie Sloan chalk paint and then coated it with spray paint polyurethane. It has been sitting rather deep in my woodland garden for 9 weeks and still looks like the day I painted it. I am planning on leaving it out this winter, but do not know how it will make out during the winter.

Honestly you can you just about any type of paint, including spray paint! As long as you seal it with poly that is indoor/outdoor.
